Staying Healthy

IDPH has produced multiple resources to support the implementation of the Healthy Habit All-Stars program. Click the link below for the order form to request printed materials. All resources may also be downloaded for printing/use. Pre-printed materials are free to entities within the state of Iowa. Orders may be picked up or can be shipped to you when you order a prepaid shipping label. The order form provides a detailed list of all available materials.

General Resources

Course Outline

The course outline provides instructors reference material to provide the education. The outline includes descriptions of the animated characters, evaluation questions, introductions to the videos, games to support the health messages, and key terms for students. This course outline is available for download as a reference. Utilization of the course outline is recommended, but not required, for educators to present or use the materials associated with this program.

Evaluation Questions

IDPH is seeking assistance from educators to measure the effectiveness and reach of the program. Five survey questions have been developed to measure students' understanding of the material before the education is provided and students' understanding after the education. Data can be entered through the following Program Evaluation link. Educators will also be asked how many students were educated, grade of the educated students, location of the education, and feedback on the training. The data collected through this process will be used to help sustain the program and identify priorities for ongoing program implementation. Immunization Factsheet

A factsheet about vaccines and immunizations has been developed to support the messaging provided in the program. This factsheet may be used to provided information to parents or guardians regarding vaccines and immunizations. Additional resources are available through the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The factsheet can be downloaded using the following link:

Videos

The Healthy Habit All-Star program has been designed to assist health professionals in educating children about public health topics. Animated videos are used to communicate complex health information to children in an age appropriate manner. 

Henry's Shots

In Henry's Shots, the Healthy Habit All-Stars help Henry understand how getting vaccinated helps protect his health as well as others in his community.

Charlotte's Sick Day

In Charlotte’s Sick Day, the team helps Charlotte understand why it is important to stay home when sick, how to cover a cough, and the importance of handwashing.

Posters

General Messaging Posters

Two general messaging posters are available. The Roll Up Your Sleeve poster provides messaging associated with getting vaccinated. The Germs Don't Stand A Chance Poster promotes handwashing, covering coughs, and staying home when sick. The printed posters are 11 X 17 inches. The posters are available for viewing and download by clicking on the image. The printed posters are available through IDPH by using the request form

Movie Posters

There are five variations of movie posters available. There is a poster specific to each character and one poster with all the Healthy Habit All-Stars. The printed posters are 24 X 36 inches. The posters are available for viewing and download by clicking on the image. The printed posters are available through IDPH by using the request form.

Temporary Tattoos

There are five different temporary tattoos available. Each tattoo features one of the All-Star characters or the Healthy Habit All-Stars logo. Each tattoo is 2 X 2 inches. The temporary tattoos may be viewed by clicking on each image. The tattoos are round and star shaped; they do not have a white square background when applied. The temporary tattoos are available from IDPH by using the request form

Coloring Book

A bound 16-page color book has been developed. The coloring book pages reference both the Henry's Shots and Charlotte's Sick Day storylines. The coloring book is available for viewing and download by clicking on the image. Printed coloring books are available through IDPH by using the request form.

Certificates of Accomplishment

There are two certificates of accomplishment that may be provided to students after completing the education. The certificates can be viewed and downloaded by clicking on the image. The first certificate is a PDF fillable form that is customizable with the student's name and the date the course was given. The second certificate is a generic PDF certificate of accomplishment that can be printed and provided to students without customization.
