Deputy Director's Office

As the state’s chief health strategist for population health, the Iowa Department of Public Health relies on expertise in several areas: quality data, health equity, thoughtful communication strategy, legislative engagement, policy development, precise planning, performance management, quality improvement, and a trained and experienced workforce.  The Deputy Director's office oversees these vital functions for the department and provides leadership to staff on our goals and strategies for population health. 

Sarah Reisetter is the department's deputy director. Prior to her current role, she was bureau chief for the Bureau of Professional Licensure. Sarah also served as the director of elections for the State of Iowa from 2008-2014, where her responsibilities included oversight of all federal, state and local elections and voter registration processes.
