Neuromuscular and Related Disorders Clinics
Our program supports individuals and their families with brain and muscle function disorders. These may include:
- Duchenne muscular dystrophy
- Becker muscular dystrophy
- Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy
- Congenital muscular dystrophy
- Spinal muscular atrophy
- Myasthenia gravis
- Charcot-marie-tooth
- Fredreich’s ataxia
According to our most recent report, we served 738 people in six different communities in 2013. Additionally, we are passionate about providing genetics education around the state to promote healthy communities and prevent disease.

What services are provided?

The Muscular Dystrophy Association approves service provision by the Neuromuscular and Related Genetic Disease Program.
How can I make an appointment?
Generally, appointments are made on a referral basis. If you are looking for more information or to make an appointment, please call 319-353-6200.
What is the cost for services?
Generally, insurance companies reimburse for medical consultation, nursing services, physical therapy and respiratory therapy recommendations. Third party payers will be billed if coverage is available.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association also has funding options available.
