Stereotactic Breast Biopsy
Facilities who perform stereotactic breast biopsy procedures are regulated by the IDPH Mammography Program. Any facility providing stereotactic breast biopsy services within Iowa must adhere to the rules outlined in Iowa Administrative Code 641 Chapter 41.7.
These rules apply to all dedicated prone stereotactic breast biopsy units and breast biopsy devices configured as an add-on to mammography units.
MQSA regulations do not include stereotactic breast biopsy programs.
