Board Certified Behavioral Analyst Grant Program (BCBA, BCaBA)
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) Grant program is coordinated through the Iowa Department of Public Health Center for Rural Health and Primary Care. The goal of this endeavor is to expand the number of BCBA/BCaBA professionals providing behavioral health services to Iowans.This program promotes health equity through increased access to behavior analysis and treatment services for individuals experiencing behavioral challenges in Iowa.
This program reimburses up to 50 percent of attributable tuition and fees of students matriculating through an accredited academic program who have agreed to practice as a BCBA/BCaBA in the state of Iowa for 2 years full-time (maximum 4 years part-time) upon graduation. In addition, post certification, the Contractor is required to assist in supervision of an individual working toward board certification as a BCBA or BCaBA or to consult with schools and service providers that provide services and supports to individuals with autism.

| Accepted for admission, currently enrolled or attending an accredited BCBA/BCaBA educational program. |
| Demonstrate financial need. |
| If Iowa resident, provide proof of Iowa residency status. |
| Agree to practice in the state of Iowa for 2 years full-time or 4 years part-time. |
| Upon certification, assist in supervising an individual working toward BCBA/BCaBA board certification or consult with schools and service providers that provide services and supports to individuals with autism in the state of Iowa. |
Application Process
Contingent on the availability of grant funds, funding opportunities are listed in the State of Iowa grants management system (IowaGrants). Applications are submitted within the IowaGrants system. Only eligible applicants who submit the required documents and forms are considered for an award.
The BCBA/BCaBA program funding opportunity is released as a request for proposal (RFP) that details the expectations and requirements for completing an application. Applicants complete and submit their applications within the IowaGrants system.
It is anticipated that the BCBA RFP posts annually in the spring with contracts beginning in the fall. The Department reserves the right to make changes to the RFP posting schedule.
Once the application period has closed, applications are reviewed and awards are issued. Additionally, eligibility criteria may include priority designations, which are noted in the RFP.
