State HAI Prevention Plan

An action plan was finalized in October 2015 by the IDPH with the guidance from the HAI Prevention Steering Committee to determine the next steps needed to begin reducing preventable HAIs.

The Statewide Action Plan for Healthcare-Associated Infections has identified the following target areas for improvement:

• HAI Program Infrastructure
• Prevention
• Harm Reduction
• Data
• Community Care Coordination
• Communication and Education
