The occurrence of HAIs has become a national priority issue for patients, consumer groups, patient safety organizations, hospitals, clinics, health care providers, public health, regulatory agencies, professional practice advisory committees and state and federal policy makers.

The Iowa Department of Public Health encourages input from patients, consumer groups, patient safety organizations, regulatory agencies, professional practice advisory committees, and state and federal policy makers on planning and actions to reduce HAIs in Iowa.
