General Health Information:
Executive Order 13166 mandates the provision of language-appropriate services to persons who are limited in their English proficiency (LEP). The purpose of this order is to improve access to federally conducted and assisted programs and activities for persons with limited English proficiency. The following websites offer health education materials in multiple languages:
- CDC Resources in Languages Other than English: Contains information and materials available on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website translated into other languages. Topics include emergency preparedness and response, diseases and conditions, data and statistics, environmental health, healthy living, injury, violence and safety, life stages and populations, travelers’ health, and workplace safety and health among others.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services developed the From Coverage to Care (C2C) initiative to help individuals understand health coverage and connect to primary care and the preventive services. Seasonal Flu:
The CDC developed four seasonal flu documents designed to improve knowledge of seasonal flu in refugee populations. The documents use minimal text and visual cues to portray seasonal flu information for low literacy populations, and are available in native languages of refugee populations commonly resettled in the United States. Suicide Prevention:
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources, and best practices for professionals. To access the Lifeline, call 1-800-273-8255.
The Refugee Health Technical Assistance Center Refugee Suicide Prevention Training Toolkit is designed to provide resources for Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) instructors who are interested in training refugee gatekeepers.
